Using MCP automation with Lyric Video Studio

Lyric Video Studio supports MCP protocol, via http. This means that you can connect Lyric Video Studio to almost any AI apps running on your desktop, including, but not limited to: ChatGpt app, Visual Studio Code / openAi Codex, Claude Desktop, LM Studio etc, list goes on. This tutorial is more about how to use it after the connection is made and this tutorial is embarassingly simple: First, check that the app has actually connection to it, by simply asking “Can you see the Lyric Video studio MCP connection and read the current project info”. If the app gives you a positive answer and detailed description of the opened project, you’re good to go. Project does not have to be opened, MCP allows you to create new projects also.

Then, it’s up to you to ask whatever you wish. MCP supports all the features of the app, so whatever you can do, AI Apps can do also. Only limitation is API based plugins: you have to manually allow access from plugin settings. Here’s a video of me telling openAi to make a video of me making a video with openAI 😀

AI can do some funny business. For example in this video, AI was not supposed to generate the storyboard images in the app, but it did it anyways and appended those to timeline. But in the end, it succeeded in creating the video. The video above fast forwards the waiting parts, expecially long local comfyUi video generation

Some general tips:

1. Be as specific as possible
2. After you have done somethign succesfully, as AI to create notes for itself, to repeat that next time
3. Ask to do one step at time: review results before moving to next step. Generating videos of bad images is waste of resources
4. BTell the Ai to specificall yuse LVS MCP commands whenever possible: it might try to call ffmpeg directly or some other weird things, which is far less efficient than doing for example clipping and trimming vi my app (and non-destructive also)
5. Have agents.md or project specific .md file (backed up) in your projects, use it to add initial instructions and ways of working
